Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors seeks Maintenance Technicians to perform routine and preventative maintenance across Sun communities. You will handle home and facility repairs, grounds upkeep, and ensure curb appeal while delivering excellent resident service.

Responsibilities include snow removal, irrigation checks, pool maintenance, and reporting issues. Requires a high school diploma or GED and ability to lift 50 lbs. On-call availability and valid driver’s license assumed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 6 months in maintenance in apartment/manufactured housing industry (Preferred).
• 6 months snow removal experience (Preferred).
• 6 months general maintenance knowledge (Preferred).
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work on-call schedule.
• Basic computer proficiency (email/internet).
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
• Able to work outdoors in temperature changes.
• Good written reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets.
• Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities.
• Inspect irrigation system regularly and repair as needed.
• Maintain vacant sites and remove trash and debris.
• Remove snow from community streets and entrances; may plow or use snow equipment.
• Keep lawns manicured and perform basic landscaping tasks.
• Maintain community pool(s) and test chemical levels.
• Inspect playgrounds, pools, and recreation areas for hazards and maintenance needs.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Assist with supervision of service contractors.
