Job summary

The Indian Boundary YMCA in Downers Grove, IL is hiring a full-time Community Concierge, Manager on Duty. You will lead front-desk operations, greet members, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and/or holidays.
• Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 9:00pm.
• Serve as Manager on Duty and provide operational leadership, including front-desk operations, attendance, and administration.
• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged.
• Monitor Community Hub for safety and service interventions and serve as first responder for emergency situations.
• Answer phones and email inquiries.
• Actively manage customer transactions and resolve opportunities and address concerns.
• Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times and record maintenance issues for resolution.
• Anticipate individuals' needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed.

The Community Concierge, Manager on Duty will support the concierge team at the local Community Hub and provide best-in-class levels of customer service and experiences. You will actively interact and engage with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and support them in discovering opportunities at the YMCA.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Earned high school diploma or GED
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed

• Must work weekends
• Willingness and ability to complete all mandatory YMCA training and certifications, along with ongoing or additional training as assigned by the supervisor, within established timeframe.

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
