Indian Boundary YMCA, part of YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, is hiring a full-time Community Concierge, Manager on Duty to welcome members and lead front-desk operations at the Community Hub.

You will greet guests, handle inquiries, support safety, and help members explore available programs and services with a focus on exceptional service.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Earned high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed.
• Top‑notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must work weekends.
• Willingness and ability to complete all mandatory YMCA training and certifications, along with ongoing or additional training as assigned by the supervisor, within established timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Mon-Fri 1:00pm - 9:00pm schedule.
• Serve as Manager on Duty and provide front-desk leadership and attendance administration.
• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged.
• Monitor Community Hub for safety and service interventions and act as first responder for emergencies.
• Answer phones and email inquiries.
• Manage customer transactions and address concerns to improve experience.
• Collaborate with local Community Hub leadership to keep spaces clean and record maintenance issues.
• Anticipate individuals' needs to provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and reorder as needed.

The Indian Boundary YMCA is hiring a full-time Community Concierge, Manager on Duty!

The Community Concierge, Manager on Duty will support the concierge team at the local Community Hub and provide best‑in‑class levels of customer service and experiences. You will actively interact and engage with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and support them in discovering opportunities at the YMCA.

Pay range is $18.00 per hour and opportunities to grow within the organization

Scope Of Responsibilities

• Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 9:00pm
• Serve as Manager on Duty and provide operational leadership, including front‑desk operations, attendance, and administration
• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged
• Monitor Community Hub for safety and service interventions and serve as first responder for emergency situations
• Answer phones and email inquiries
• Actively manage customer transactions and resolve opportunities and address concerns
• Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times and record maintenance issues for resolution
• Anticipate individuals' needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed

Requirements

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
