Job summary

South Side YMCA is seeking a part-time Community Concierge to welcome members and guests, answer inquiries, and handle transactions at the South Side YMCA, Chicago, IL 60637.

You will support facility operations, maintain supplies, and collaborate with Community Hub leaders to create an outstanding customer experience while adapting to flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Position Description

Community Concierge team members serve as the face of the Y and support a best-in-class experience for our customers. You will actively interact and engage with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and support them in discovering opportunities at the YMCA.

Essential Job Requirements & Duties:

• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged
• Answer phone and email inquiries
• Actively manage customer transactions
• Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times
• Anticipate individuals needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Child Abuse Prevention

Supports the YMCA's commitment to child abuse prevention by:

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required

Minimum and Preferred Requirements — Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• At least 18 years of age
• Earned high school degree or GED
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
• Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred
