Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Community Concierge to warmly welcome members and guests, handle inquiries, and manage transactions. You will collaborate with local leadership to keep spaces clean and stocked, while anticipating needs to deliver an exceptional experience.

The role requires strong verbal and written communication, flexibility for weekends/holidays, and a focus on inclusive service. Training and opportunities to grow within a community-focused organization are provided.

Community Concierge team members serve as the face of the Y and support a best-in-class experience for our customers. You will actively interact and engage with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and support them in discovering opportunities at the YMCA.

Essential Job Requirements & Duties

• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged
• Answer phone and email inquiries
• Actively manage customer transactions
• Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times
• Anticipate individuals needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor

Minimum And Preferred Requirements — Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• At least 18 years of age
• Earned high school degree or GED
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
• Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred
