Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago seeks a Community Concierge to be the face of the Y, engaging with members and guests while guiding them to opportunities and services. You will greet visitors, handle inquiries, manage transactions, and support cleanliness and operations through collaboration with Community Hub leadership.

Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred for inclusive service. Ideal candidates demonstrate exceptional communication, adaptability, and a strong commitment to community

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Earned high school degree or GED.
• Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged.
• Answer phone and email inquiries.
• Actively manage customer transactions.
• Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times.
• Anticipate individuals' needs to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Community Concierge team members serve as the face of the Y and support a best-in-class experience for our customers. You will actively interact and engage with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and support them in discovering opportunities at the YMCA.

Essential Job Requirements & Duties

• Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged
• Answer phone and email inquiries
• Actively manage customer transactions
• Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times
• Anticipate individuals needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
