Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking a Commercial Rear/Side Load Driver to safely collect waste and recyclables from commercial buildings on assigned routes. The role involves operating side-load and rear-load vehicles, loading cargo, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety standards.

The position requires a Class 3 CDL, at least one year of commercial driving experience, and the ability to comply with safety policies while providing courteous service to customers on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class 3 Commercial Driver's License required.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria according to Company standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Commercial Waste / Recycling collection vehicle, side-load and/or rear-load truck, ancillary equipment, and hydraulic system to collect solid waste and/or recyclables on specified collection route.
• Load solid waste, or recyclables into the rear or side of the waste collection vehicle.
• Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation.
• Identify and tag prohibited waste items and remove the items from the waste cart or can.
• May be required to work overtime and attend safety meetings.
