Job summary

GFL is seeking a Residential Driver to safely provide waste removal services on curbside and backdoor routes. You will operate residential/recycling collection trucks, load waste and recyclables, and maintain vehicle cleanliness while upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities include completing pre/post-trip inspections, reporting mechanical issues, following local regulations, and communicating effectively with customers. CDL is required and a strong safety record is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• CDL is required for operation of the vehicle.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Capability to drive safely and operate truck equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks and auxiliary equipment on assigned routes.
• Load solid waste or recyclables and maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete necessary reports.
• Communicate vehicle issues to supervisor and mechanic promptly.
• Adhere to safety standards and local regulations during routes.
• Oversee helpers if assigned and maintain route quality and efficiency.
• Possibly work overtime and attend safety/branch meetings.
