Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a commercial driver to operate a waste/recycling collection vehicle on designated routes. You will load materials, perform routine inspections, and ensure safety protocols are followed as you interact with customers on a daily basis.

The role requires a Class 3 Commercial Driver's License, at least one year of commercial driving experience, and a focus on safe operation and document accuracy. Overtime and outdoor work are common aspects of the job.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of truck operation and basic maintenance for safe use.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and maps.
• Strong communication with internal/external customers.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes and drive continuously improving routing.
• Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively with proper technique.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Commercial Waste / Recycling collection vehicle on a specified route.
• Load waste and recyclables, and operate rear/side loaders and equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports.
• Identify and tag prohibited waste items and maintain route quality.
• Report vehicle issues to supervisor and coordinate with maintenance.
• Maintain PPE usage and comply with safety policies.
• Assist with overtime as needed and participate in safety meetings.
• Maintain professional demeanor when meeting customers.
