Job summary

USI Insurance Services in Los Angeles area seeks an experienced Account Manager to handle 30–50 middle-market Commercial Lines accounts. You will manage renewals, market new placements, and provide technical insurance guidance to clients and colleagues.

Collaborating with Sales and Account Executives, you will prepare applications, analyze quotes, and recommend programs. A license or willingness to obtain one is required, with several industry designations preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years experience in a Commercial Lines agency.
• Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance.
• Must hold or be willing to earn Property & Casualty insurance license.
• Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred.
• Comfortable with internet-based programs and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned Commercial Lines clients.
• Provide insurance technical expertise to clients and other members of the Account Management team.
• Responsible for marketing and placement of client Commercial Lines insurance renewals.
• Prepare client applications for review with assistance from Account Representatives.
• Determine most-appropriate carriers for market pricing.
• Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings.
• Make insurance program recommendations to clients.
• Manage client renewal expirations and avoid lapses in coverage.
• Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients.
• Process policies, endorsements and audits as needed.
• Champion cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
• Represent client interests in internal USI account strategy meetings.
• Delegate administrative tasks to Account Representatives.
• Respond to underwriters’ questions timely and professionally.
• Maintain accuracy in agency management systems.
