Comparion Insurance Agency is seeking a Commercial Insurance Specialist to help small businesses obtain tailored coverage through consultative sales. You will prospect opportunities, develop client and referral relationships, and coordinate with multiple carriers to deliver quality protection and service.

The role emphasizes guidance on BOP, GL, property, auto, workers’ comp, cyber, and other coverages, with a strong focus on building a book of business and meeting production targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business background with 1–3 years in insurance or sales/service.
• Experience with small commercial products: BOP, GL, property, commercial auto, workers’ comp, cyber, umbrella, bonds.
• Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Active Property & Casualty license or progress toward them; must obtain on hire.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop new small commercial accounts (revenues under $10M) via prospecting, referrals, networking, and inbound leads.
• Counsel prospects and policyholders on protection and coverage needs; propose suitable insurance solutions.
• Prepare and present quotes from multiple carriers using agency tools; manage policy placement and renewals.
• Meet production and cross-sell targets within guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
• Build COI/lead generation streams through relationships with referring agents.
• Provide timely service for endorsements, cancellations, audits, and claims liaison.
• Stay current on carrier appetite, products, underwriting guidelines, and industry trends.
