Job summary

Modigent is seeking an entry-level Service Technician I to begin a career in commercial HVAC service by assisting experienced technicians with maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs across rooftop units, air handlers, and related equipment. You’ll work under supervision to gain hands-on experience while upholding safety standards.

The role emphasizes structured training, mentorship, and company-sponsored certifications, with opportunities for advancement through national service teams.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in HVAC or related field; no prior commercial HVAC required; strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
• High school diploma or GED; trade school or HVAC certificate a plus (will be sponsored).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; EPA 608 preferred; OSHA 10 encouraged.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied environments.
• Field-based role requiring safety protocols and PPE adherence.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with preventive maintenance and basic inspections of commercial HVAC equipment.
• Support troubleshooting and small repairs under direct supervision; assist with refrigerant tasks as trained.
• Prepare tools, document findings, take photos, and enter basic work orders.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and load/unload equipment as needed.
• Participate in safety briefings, hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and PPE requirements.
• Communicate observations to customers and team; learn system concepts through on‑the‑job training.
