Job summary

Modigent is seeking a Service Technician III to operate as a senior expert handling complex commercial HVAC service calls, diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and startups across diverse buildings nationwide.

You will lead challenging jobs, mentor junior technicians, and deliver high-reliability, code-compliant, energy-efficient solutions while maintaining thorough documentation for billing and warranty matters. Strong training and leadership opportunities are available.

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive hands-on commercial HVAC service, repair, and maintenance experience; journeyman-level proficiency.
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
EPA Section 608 certification (Universal strongly preferred); NATE certification or equivalent credentials a plus.
OSHA 10/30-hour or other safety credentials a plus.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex commercial HVAC systems (RTUs, chillers, boilers, controls).
Perform advanced repairs including major component replacements and refrigerant handling per EPA rules.
Lead full service calls from start to finish, communicate findings, coordinate parts, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Mentor Service Technician I and II and promote safety/quality standards.
Document work orders, reports, and diagrams; ensure regulatory and company policy compliance.
