Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks a Service Technician – Commercial Generators to maintain and repair generator and power distribution equipment for clients. The role provides technical support and requires extensive field experience across diverse generator systems.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior technicians while ensuring safety and quality standards on every job.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; related military experience or equivalent field experience.
• 3+ years field experience for Level II; 6+ years for Level III; 10+ years for Level IV in generator systems.
• Experience with 500kW+ equipment and preventative maintenance; ability to troubleshoot ATS and switchgear.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical issues; knowledge of Woodward/Beckwith controls.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel to customer sites and work independently.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support as required unless on PTO or off call.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment under contract as scheduled.
• Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors as necessary.
• Maintain and safeguard company-issued equipment and documents.
