Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must obtain Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire where applicable.
• Prior claim handling or business experience in the insurance industry and/or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies coverage and establishes timely reserves by reviewing policy language and following claim-handling protocols.
• Investigates claims by gathering information, taking statements, and working with experts to verify facts.
• Authorizes disbursements and negotiates settlements within authority limits.
• Interacts with insureds, claimants and business partners to provide updates and timely responses.
• Collaborates with internal and external resources to facilitate best claim outcomes.
• Identifies subrogation/salvage opportunities or fraud indicators and directs referrals as needed.
• Maintains compliance with state/local regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
• Maintains accurate documentation and ensures quality and timely disbursements.
• Possibly dedicated to specific accounts and may require regular communication with customers.
