Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is hiring for a Claims Representative on the Commercial Auto APD team. You will review and investigate claims, negotiate settlements, and interact with insureds and claimants.

The role involves handling less complex to moderate claims with a focus on timely research and thorough documentation. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, state licensure as required, and 1–3 years of claims handling experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• State licensure as required
• 1–3 years claims handling experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suites
• Demonstrated skills in investigation, evaluation and negotiation
• Knowledge of insurance theory and practices
• Knowledge of Commercial Auto, Garage Keepers, and total loss experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Investigates the claim or coverage by contacting involved parties (insured, claimant, witnesses, producers).
• Verifies coverage and policy conditions; drafts positions as needed.
• Interact with internal/external parties to gather information.
• Establishes reserves based on estimated outcomes and updates per facts and standards.
• Effectively settles and negotiates non-litigated claims.
• Builds critical thinking and decision-making skills to analyze issues.
• Maintains relationships with customers; earns trust and respect.
• Learns technical materials and applies lessons to improve outcomes.
• Writes clear, factual notes in claims files and communications.
• Manages time and diary entries in a fast-paced environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
