Job summary

Vortex Doors in Columbus, OH seeks an experienced operations leader to run the Service Center. You will own the full installation and service operation, guide a skilled team, and ensure profitable, safe, high‑quality outcomes day after day.

You will review performance, coach supervisors, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring customer satisfaction and OSHA compliance across field and shop activities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in the door industry with deep field ops experience.
• 5+ years leading operations with full P&L accountability.
• Proven budgeting and performance reporting skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Background in outside sales and customer development.
• Ability to hire, train, and assess team performance.

Responsibilities

• Review prior-day performance, open orders, costs, and safety metrics; align today’s schedule.
• Coach supervisors and technicians; clarify priorities and remove roadblocks.
• Check in with customers and partners; address needs with urgency and professionalism.
• Inspect field and shop practices for OSHA alignment and quality control.
• Meet with Regional Director on progress toward P&L targets and staffing plans.
• Own Service Center performance: budgeting, staffing, expenses, profitability.
• Foster continuous improvement to cut costs and raise service levels.
• Hire, develop, and retain top talent; deliver accountability and recognition.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration and share best practices.
• Lead safety culture and ensure compliance with federal/state requirements.
• Understand each role to optimize planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Travel to job sites and company meetings as needed.
