Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in New York, NY seeks an Estimator in Training to learn diagnosing and preparing repair estimates under guidance, following insurance partner guidelines and company templates.

You will greet customers, map damage, photograph, notify production, finalize estimates, and communicate progress to customers, aiming for a high closing sales ratio while upholding WOW standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Must complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist estimator in diagnosing and preparing repair estimates.
• Map damage with customer and document with photos.
• Notify production and verify estimate during teardown.
• Finalize estimate using Repair Planning Template.
• Communicate with customers about estimates and promised dates.
• Maintain regular customer updates per management standards.
• Participate in production meetings and follow up with technicians as needed.
• Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports and re-inspections.
