Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Orland Park, Illinois is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn how to diagnose and prepare repair estimates in line with insurer guidelines, while communicating value to customers and maintaining a high sales ratio. You will work closely with our Estimator, participate in production meetings, and handle damage mapping, photos, and parts lists through CCC One.

The role requires a high school diploma, 16 I-CAR units within 12 months, and excellent communication;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have or complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Greets customer at repair drop off and builds rapport.
• Maps damage with customer (previous, current loss, WOW opportunities).
• Handles repair mapping, takes initial photographs; uploads photos and notes to CCC One with arrival time.
• Notifies production that vehicle has arrived and places in production queue; verifies estimate during teardown.
• Finalizes estimate using proper Repair Planning Template.
• Works with repair team to ensure windshield notations are correct and complete; compiles final parts list.
• Uses Promise Date Calculator to set promise date and reviews estimate with customer.
• Updates customer regularly (per management standards).
• Participates in production meetings.
• Calls customers whose cars will be completed the next day and schedules with them.
• Follow up with technicians after teardown and adjust estimate as needed.
• Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports and manage re-inspection requests.
