Job summary

Northwestern Mutual is seeking a College Financial Representative intern to build a financial planning practice while receiving guidance from local and nationwide experts within a Fortune 500 company.

You will learn prospecting, develop a business strategy, and gain exposure to proprietary planning software and regular coaching. Eligible students may interview for full-time roles after graduation, with licensing support for Series 6/63 and CFP.

Qualifications

• Full-time student; juniors and seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial ambitions and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, campus orgs, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn prospecting and networking to build your business and client base.
• Develop and execute a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Receive licensing: Life, Accident, and Health.
