Job summary

Covenant Logistics is seeking a Collections Specialist I to monitor and record incoming payments, maintain databases, and ensure timely collections. The role requires attention to detail and strong communication to coordinate with customers and internal teams.

You will update records in collections and accounting software, resolve disputes, and support the Credit & Collections Manager while aiming to reduce delinquency across assigned accounts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting/finance required. 1 year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
• Higher education a plus.
• Preferred: Transportation, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain experience.
• TMW, Great Plains, and/or AS400 experience preferred. 3+ years' experience in Customer Service.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track incoming payments to ensure accurate records.
• Maintain payment databases and spreadsheets, including collections software and Transportation Management Systems.
• Communicate with customers to request payment and arrange plans.
• Update customer accounts in systems based on payments or contact information.
• Research and resolve paperwork, billing, and collections issues as they arise.
• Assist Credit & Collections Manager as needed.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Billing when necessary.
