Job summary

Intermountain Health in West Valley City, Utah seeks a skilled professional fee coder to evaluate and resolve coding edits within Epic WQs. You will assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes and modifiers, ensuring accurate billing and compliance with guidelines.

You will work in Epic PB Resolute, communicate coding trends to leadership, and provide education to providers and coders. The role requires CPC or CCS-P credentials and 5+ years of specialty coding experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of pro fee coding experience with at least three (3) years within the assigned specialty.
• Required CPC or CCS-P credential.
• Experience with Epic and working in active work queues preferred.
• Proficient in CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding and modifiers.

Responsibilities

• Navigate Epic EMR and work queues to review and resolve coding edits.
• Review documentation and assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes and modifiers.
• Educate providers and staff on coding trends.
• Conduct quality assurance audits for the specialty team.
• Ensure compliance with coding regulations and guidelines.
• Communicate with providers via Epic in-basket and email.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and Optum Encoder Pro.
