Job summary

First Solar Inc. seeks a Production Coater Technician I to begin the manufacturing process, including coating applications for photovoltaic modules. You will safely operate coating equipment, manage materials, run basic quality checks and perform preventative maintenance on the line.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of manufacturing experience, and the ability to train others after certification. This is a full-time on-site role with travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• External candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Preference for an Associate’s degree or certificate in a technical discipline.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience or equivalent substitutes.
• Internal candidates require 60 internal credits or equivalent training and good supervisor ratings.
• Safety-first mindset and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate coating equipment and manage materials to produce PV modules.
• Perform preventative maintenance and address intermediate alarms.
• Conduct basic quality checks and use hand tools on the floor.
• Train others on tasks after certification and provide data reporting.
• Maintain inventory and ensure waste is discarded properly.
