Job summary

Avery Dennison in Greenfield, IN, is hiring a Coating Business Unit Manager to lead 24/7 Coating and Finishing operations. You will mentor shift managers, drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement, and manage budgets and cost variances through strong financial oversight.

As part of the Plant Leadership Team, you’ll coordinate production, workforce planning, and cross-functional collaboration to meet production, quality, and cost objectives while advancing Lean initiatives such as ELS,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 6+ years of Operations/Manufacturing experience with 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow, and continuous improvement strategies (ELS, Six Sigma, 5S).
• Solid financial acumen with budgeting and cost-driver understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate, and assist in day-to-day team operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Establish annual operating budgets and manage costs to variances with corrective actions.
• Direct and manage Shift Managers across Coating, Finishing, Shipping, and Material Handling.
• Mentor front-line supervisors and drive Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, and Continuous Improvement programs.
• Act as site safety champion and support return-to-work and health resources.
