Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a CNS Assistant Manager to support the CNS Manager in operating a school cafeteria, preparing meals, and ensuring accurate records. The role requires a high school diploma and ServSafe certification within 90 days, with strong MS Office and Google Apps skills.

You will work Monday–Friday with site-based variation, ensuring safe, nutritious meals and positive customer service for students and staff. Training provided, onboarding at school site.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child nutrition policies and procedures.
• Experience using MS Office and Google Apps for records and reports.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interpret schedules and standardized recipes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals and sides according to recipes.
• Serve as cashier and maintain accurate POS records of sales.
• Assist with deposits and banking as needed.
• Provide leadership in the CNS Manager's absence.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and serving areas.
• Complete required records and inventories on a regular basis.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
