Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop machining strategies and programs for high-precision hardware. The role involves programming Mills, Lathes, and multi-axis machines, plus tool design and fixture development.

You will collaborate with designers and machinists to ensure manufacturability and on-time delivery. This position requires extensive hands-on machining experience, strong GD&T skills, and the ability to create setup sheets and engineering feedback for process

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
• Minimum 10 years in CNC programming with NX/UG or MasterCam.
• Tools and fixtures design experience.
• Set-up sheet creation and machining parameter selection.

Responsibilities

• Develop machining strategy from design data to produce machined hardware.
• Develop Mills/Lathes and Multi Axis machines.
• Create concept manufacturing plans and develop programs.
• Design custom tools and fixtures as needed.
• Develop set-up sheets and communicate with designers and machinists.
• Provide design for manufacture feedback and make-buy time estimates.
• Drive process improvements and maintain file/configuration control.
• Operate CNC machines safely in an industrial environment.
• Handle material sizing tasks.
