Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a CNC Machining and CAM Automation Engineer to join the Advanced Manufacturing Group. You will develop and deploy software to automate CNC programming, drive efficiency with AI/ML tools, and implement postprocessors for NX CAM while collaborating across disciplines to scale manufacturing solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in CNC environments, experience with Siemens NX/Teamcenter, and strong coding skills in Python and Typescript; US work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a CNC machining environment
• Experience with CAM systems and CNC programming
• Experience with CNC postprocessor development and CAM software customization
• Experience with CNC controls such as Sinumerik, Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Okuma
• Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code in Python and Typescript
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, specs and procedures
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, customize, and support software solutions to drive CNC programming and machining automation
• Drive adoption of efficiency tools including AI/ML, in-process probing, and adaptive machining
• Develop CNC postprocessors and machine code simulation
• Support CAD/CAM/PLM integrations and add-ons
• Identify and evaluate advanced manufacturing technologies and automation
• Provide hands-on support to machinists and engineers in deploying new processes
