Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CNC Machining and CAM Automation Engineer to join the Advanced Manufacturing Group's AMG CNC Machining Automation team. You will develop and deploy advanced machining processes, custom software, CNC automation, and CAM automation supporting manufacturing for rockets and systems.

Collaboration with machinists, programmers, and engineers is essential. You will apply CNC machining, CAD/CAM/PLM, and software development expertise to scale automated manufacturing, driving

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
2+ to 5+ years in CNC machining/manufacturing environments depending on level.
Experience with CAM systems and CNC programming.
Experience with CNC postprocessor development and CAM software customization.
Proficient with CNC controls and G-code macro programming.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and instructions.
Strong coding skills in Python and Typescript.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, multi-site team.

Responsibilities

Develop, deploy, and support software solutions to drive CNC programming and machining efficiency.
Lead adoption of automation tools, AI/ML, probing, adaptive machining, and data management.
Develop CNC postprocessors and machine code simulations.
Support CAD/CAM/PLM system integrations and add-ons.
Identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies.
Provide hands-on support to machinists and engineers deploying new processes.
Collaborate with diverse teams across locations to scale machining automation.
