Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking an experienced CNC machinist to develop hardware in collaboration with engineering teams. You will program, setup and operate 3–5 axis mills and multi‑axis lathes, develop critical processes, and maintain quality per strict engineering specs.

The role requires 10+ years in CNC machining, extensive NX experience, and strong GD&T skills. A collaborative, safety‑mocused environment with opportunities to contribute to advanced aerospace components awaits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machining.
• 10+ years of experience with manual mill and lathe.
• 7+ years of experience with NX.
• Full understanding of GD&T and inspection tools per ASME Y14.5M.
• Thrive in a continuously evolving environment.
• Ability to take on challenges with incomplete information and pivot to progress.
• Work well in a collaborative team.
• Experience machining nickel-based stainless alloys, copper, aluminum or titanium.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware in parallel with Engineering.
• Machine product from cradle to grave: select tooling, program, setup, machine and inspect.
• Program, setup and machine 3, 4 and 5 axis mills, multi-axis lathes; develop critical processes.
• Operate NC and manual equipment as required.
• Collaborate with engineering to document and standardize processes.
• Prioritize work with leadership based on schedule and goals.
• Ensure product quality per engineering specs.
• Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of machinery.
• Work safely and responsibly.
