Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island seeks a senior CNC machinist to lead high-precision manufacturing for spaceflight hardware. You will develop, program, set up, machine, and inspect parts across 3-, 4-, and 5-axis operations, collaborating with engineers to meet tight specifications.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with multi-axis CNC machines (Mazak, Hass, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, Okuma), NX, and GD&T, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused team environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of 3/4/5 axis CNC machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware in parallel with Engineering.
• Machine product from cradle to grave: evaluate, select work-holding & tooling, program, setup, machine and inspect, while communicating with design teams throughout the life cycle.
• Program, set up and machine 3, 4 and 5 axis mills, multi axis lathes, and develop critical machining processes.
• Operate NC and manual equipment as required.
• Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes.
• Prioritize work with leadership based on schedule and goals.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specs.
• Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of machinery and equipment.
• Perform all tasks safely.
