Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CNC Machining and CAM Automation Engineer to advance automated manufacturing for rockets and systems. You will develop CNC processes, software, and automation solutions within AMG, collaborating with machinists, programmers, and engineers to scale high-precision manufacturing.

You will work on postprocessors, machine code simulation, CAD/CAM/PLM integrations, and implement AI/ML-driven tooling and probing strategies while ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a CNC machining manufacturing environment (Level II) or 5+ years (Level III)
• Demonstrated success with CAM systems and CNC programming
• Software development and/or CNC postprocessor/CAM software development experience
• Experience with CNC controls such as Sinumerik, Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Okuma
• Extensive understanding of G-code and macro programming for probing
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and cross-disciplinary collaboration

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and support software solutions for CNC programming and machining fabrication
• Drive adoption of efficiency tools including AI/ML and adaptive machining
• Develop CNC postprocessors and machine code simulation
• Integrate CAD/CAM/PLM systems and add-ons
• Identify and evaluate advanced manufacturing technologies
• Provide hands-on support to machinists and engineers deploying new processes
• Collaborate across engineering, automation, and IT teams to scale automation
• Support equipment and software selection in strategic initiatives
