Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a highly experienced machinist to join our Operations team. You will develop hardware in collaboration with Engineering and manage fabrication from cradle to grave, using 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines and multi-axis lathes.

The role emphasizes precision, GD&T, and adherence to engineering specifications in a fast-paced, safety‑driven environment. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of CNC and manual milling/turning experience, NX proficiency, and a track record of delivering

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machining.
• 10+ years of experience with manual mill and lathe.
• 7+ years of NX experience.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and inspection tooling.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, evolving environment.
• Experience machining nickel-based alloys and titanium.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware in parallel with Engineering.
• Machine product from cradle to grave: evaluate, select work-holding & tooling, program, setup, machine and inspect, while communicating with design teams throughout the life cycle.
• Programming, setup and machining of 3, 4 and 5 axis mills, multi axis lathes, and development of critical machining processes.
• Operation of other equipment as required, both NC and manual.
• Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes.
• Partner with leadership and engineering to prioritize work based on production schedule and goals.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
• Perform daily maintenance and regular cleaning of machinery and equipment.
• Perform all tasks in safe and responsible manner.
