Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for first shift in our New York facility. You will machine and inspect complex parts across 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines, collaborating with Engineering to ensure quality and reliability of spaceflight hardware.

The role demands deep NX and GD&T proficiency, plus a track record of operating Mazak, Hass, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, or Okuma machines. You will thrive in a dynamic team focused on safety and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machining.
• 10+ years of experience with manual mill and lathe.
• 7+ years of NX with a thorough understanding of GD&T and inspection tools.
• Thrives in a fast-evolving environment and can adapt quickly.
• Able to handle incomplete information and pivot to progress.
• Works well in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience machining nickel-based alloys, copper, aluminum, or titanium.
• Experience with Mazak, Hass, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, and/or Okuma CNC machines.
• Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol, or equivalents.
• Excellent blueprint reading and GD&T skills per ASME Y14.5M.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware in collaboration with Engineering across the product life cycle.
• Program, set up, machine, and inspect parts in 3/4/5 axis operations.
• Maintain and document production processes with engineering.
• Prioritize work based on schedule and goals with leadership.
• Ensure conformance to engineering specifications and product quality.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery and equipment.
