Job summary

Basaran Grinder Corporation seeks a senior machinist/engineer to serve as the highest-level machining resource for process planning, programming, difficult setups, shop standards, and technical recovery. The role requires organizing work across CNC equipment and broad capability in milling, turning, inspection, and preferably EDM.

Qualifications

• Expert CNC programming, setup, operation, GD&T, metrology, and process-planning capability.
• Broad experience with precision, low-volume, high-value parts and multiple machine platforms.
• Ability to both program and personally run equipment rather than function­ing only as an offline programmer.
• Demonstrated ability to prevent collisions, scrap, repeat failures, and avoidable schedule losses.
• Leadership through technical credibility, teaching, and disciplined shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Set process strategy for the most difficult, expensive, or schedule-critical machined components.
• Review workload, machine capability, tooling, workholding, programming risk, and inspection requirements.
• Program and personally run critical jobs when needed, including prove-out and final process validation.
• Establish Mastercam standards, postprocessor practices, tooling libraries, setup documentation, and verification methods.
• Lead machining root-cause analysis and coordinate drawing or process changes with engineering and quality.
• Develop machinists, cross-train the department, and guide safe adoption of new equipment and methods.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Experience ( 20+ years)

• Ability to program and operate wire EDM and/or sinker EDM equipment
• Advanced five-axis, mill-turn, probing, automation, postprocessor, orfixture-design expertise
• Experience planning department capacity, tooling investments, andmachine acquisitions

• Full-time position based primarily on-site in Hauppauge, New York
• Typical company schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; specific hours depend on the role
