• Lead first builds and difficult alignment work and recovery of machines with system-level issues.
• Establish assembly standards, signoff criteria, checklists, fixtures, measurement methods, and training plans.
• Review designs for assembly access, alignment method, contamination control, serviceability, and long-term reliability.
• Coordinate final mechanical readiness with engineering, controls, applications, quality, service, and management.
• Develop senior builders and preserve practical machine-building knowledge.

Position Summary

Serves as the highest-level hands-on authority for machineassembly, alignment, build planning, and mechanical acceptance. This personleads the most difficult builds, establishes standards, and helps theorganization scale machine output without sacrificing precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Set build strategy, sequence, tooling, inspection points, and staffingapproach for complex or schedule-critical machines
• Lead first builds, major redesigns, difficult alignment work, andrecovery of machines with system-level mechanical problems
• Establish assembly standards, signoff criteria, checklists, fixtures,measurement methods, and training plans
• Review designs for assembly access, alignment method, contaminationcontrol, serviceability, and long-term reliability
• Coordinate final mechanical readiness with engineering, controls,applications, quality, service, and management
• Develop senior builders and preserve practical machine-buildingknowledge across the organization

Required Qualifications

• Expert hands-on machine-tool building, precision alignment, metrology,and troubleshooting capability
• Broad understanding of mechanical structures, axes, spindles, dressers,workholding, guarding, and fluid systems
• Ability to diagnose problems that cross design, machining, assembly,controls, and process boundaries
• History of delivering complex machines through power-up, runoff,correction, and acceptance
• Leadership through technical credibility, teaching, discipline, andpersonal workmanship

Preferred Experience ( 20+ years )

• Grinding-machine platform, prototype machine, factory installation, ortechnical recovery experience
• Advanced scraping, spotting, laser measurement, geometric calibration,or spindle experience
• Experience creating scalable assembly cells and training programs

• Full-time position based primarily on-site in Hauppauge, New York
• Typical company schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; specific hours depend on the role
