Basaran Grinder Corporation in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Level 3 Advanced Machine Design Engineer who owns major subsystems from concept through testing. Qualifications

• Independent design of complex mechanical assemblies.
• Advanced SolidWorks, drawing, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and component selection.
• Understanding of machine dynamics, stiffness, heat transfer, lubrication, sealing, bearings, and structural behavior.
• Ability to make practical design decisions with incomplete information and document the basis.
• Ability to lead subsystem schedules and coordinate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of major subsystems such as axes, spindles, dressing systems, fixtures, enclosures, coolant systems, and hydraulic or pneumatic circuits.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance studies, risk reviews, and design validation.
• Define interfaces among mechanical, electrical, controls, automation, and process systems.
• Lead design reviews and close action items before drawings and purchase requirements are released.
• Troubleshoot machine performance, vibration, thermal, sealing, alignment, and reliability problems.
• Support suppliers, manufacturing, assembly, machine runoff, and customer-specific engineering changes.

Position Summary

Owns major machine subsystems from concept through testing.This engineer balances precision, stiffness, dynamics, manufacturability,serviceability, cost, and schedule while coordinating across mechanical,electrical, software, manufacturing, and applications teams.

Required Qualifications

• Strong record of independently designing complex mechanical assemblies
• Advanced SolidWorks, drawing, GD&T, tolerance-analysis, andcomponent-selection skills
• Sound understanding of machine dynamics, stiffness, heat transfer,lubrication, sealing, bearings, and structural behavior
• Ability to make practical design decisions with incomplete informationand document the basis
• Ability to lead subsystem schedules and coordinate work acrossdepartments

Preferred Experience ( 10+ years)

• Machine-tool, grinding, semiconductor-equipment, robotics,aerospace-tooling, or precision-automation experience
• FEA, CFD, vibration, thermal, or servo-mechanical experience
• Experience taking equipment through factory acceptance testing

Delivers complete subsystems that assemble correctly, meetperformance targets, and require minimal late-stage redesign.

• Full-time position based primarily on-site in Hauppauge, New York
• Typical company schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; specific hours depend on the role
