Basaran Grinder Corporation in Hauppauge, NY is seeking an experienced machinist to set up and operate proven CNC mills or lathes with limited supervision. You will install workholding and tools, establish offsets, perform first-piece inspections, and make routine adjustments to maintain quality.

You will verify tool lengths and clearances, run first pieces, complete in-process and final self-inspections, and document setup details.

Qualifications

• CNC mill or lathe setup and operation experience.
• Ability to read drawings, tolerances, surface-finish requirements, and basic GD&T.
• Proficiency with common precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine tooling, workholding, finish, and dimensional problems.
• Ability to work safely and independently on established jobs.

Responsabilités

• Set up vises, fixtures, chucks, tools, probes, work offsets, and approved CNC programs.
• Verify tool lengths, clearances, workholding, stock condition, and safe prove-out sequence.
• Run first pieces and complete in-process and final self-inspection.
• Adjust speeds, feeds, offsets, and tool changes within the approved process.
• Document setup information, tooling, inspection results, and recurring process problems.

Description du poste

Sets up and operates proven CNC mill or lathe jobs withlimited supervision. This machinist installs workholding and tools, establishesoffsets, completes first-piece inspection, and makes routine adjustments tomaintain quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up vises, fixtures, chucks, tools, probes, work offsets, andapproved CNC programs
• Verify tool lengths, clearances, workholding, stock condition, and safeprove-out sequence
• Run first pieces and complete in-process and final self-inspection
• Adjust speeds, feeds, offsets, and tool changes within the approvedprocess
• Perform basic program edits at the control and communicate needed CAMchanges
• Document setup information, tooling, inspection results, and recurringprocess problems

Required Qualifications

• CNC mill or lathe setup and operation experience
• Ability to read drawings, tolerances, surface-finish requirements, andbasic GD&T
• Proficiency with common precision measuring equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot routine tooling, workholding, finish, anddimensional problems
• Ability to work safely and independently on established jobs

Preferred Experience ( 3+ years)

• Ability to both edit or program and independently run the machine
• Mastercam, probing, mill-turn, or multi-axis exposure
• Experience with prototypes, one-off parts, fixtures, or machinecomponents

What Success Looks Like

Completes repeat setups efficiently, produces an acceptablefirst piece, and maintains quality without constant supervision.

• Full-time position based primarily on-site in Hauppauge, New York
• Typical company schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; specific hours depend on the role
