Job summary

Basaran Grinder Corp. is seeking an automation software engineer to develop CNC macros, PLC logic, HMI screens, machine cycles, alarms, diagnostics, and setup functions for Basaran grinding machines.

The engineer works directly with mechanical and electrical teams to turn machine requirements into reliable production cycles, diagnostics, and operator workflows. The role requires hands-on startup and testing, strong documentation, and collaboration to maintain robust software and optimal machine

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC controls, PLC programming, industrial automation, motion control, or embedded machine systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and understand sensors, actuators, servos, drives, and machine sequencing.
• Structured programming and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work hands-on at the machine during startup and testing.
• Clear documentation and communication habits.

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC macros, PLC logic, HMI screens, machine cycles, alarms, diagnostics, and setup functions.
• Configure axes, servos, drives, I/O, industrial networks, safety interfaces, robots, gaging, and peripheral equipment.
• Support machine power-up, commissioning, debugging, cycle development, runoff, and customer acceptance.
• Create clear operator functions and service diagnostics for complex grinding and automation processes.
• Maintain software revision control, backups, change records, and reusable code standards.
• Troubleshoot integrated mechanical, electrical, motion, communication, and software issues.

Preferred Experience ( 10+ years)

• Grinding, machine-tool, robotics, or factory-automation experience

• Full-time position based primarily on-site in Hauppauge, New York
• Typical company schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; specific hours depend on the role
