Basaran Grinder Corporation is seeking a skilled machinist to program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes for high-mix, low-volume precision work. The role involves independently planning the process, selecting tooling and workholding, proving out the job, and inspecting the finished part.

You will create Mastercam programs, plan operations, set up fixtures and speeds/feeds, and perform GD&T interpretation with in-process and final inspections to ensure tight tolerances and quality

Competenze

• Strong CNC setup and operation experience plus demonstrated Mastercam programming capability.
• Ability to independently take work from drawing through finished inspection.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tool selection, cutting conditions, workholding, and process sequencing.
• Ability to troubleshoot chatter, tool wear, finish, accuracy, collision risk, and machine behavior.
• Experience with low-volume precision manufacturing rather than operator-only production.

Programs, sets up, and operates CNC mills or lathes forhigh-mix, low-volume precision work. This machinist independently plans theprocess, selects tooling and workholding, proves out the job, and inspects thefinished part.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine close-tolerance features, including tenths-level requirementswhere specified

• Identify drawing, material, tooling, or manufacturability risks beforethey create delays

Required Qualifications

• Strong CNC setup and operation experience plus demonstrated Mastercamprogramming capability
• Ability to independently take work from drawing through finishedinspection
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tool selection, cutting conditions, workholding, and process sequencing
• Ability to troubleshoot chatter, tool wear, finish, accuracy, collisionrisk, and machine behavior
• Experience with low-volume precision manufacturing rather thanoperator-only production

Preferred Experience ( 15+ years)

• Capability on both CNC milling and turning equipment
• Experience with large parts, precision boring, probing, fourth-axis, ormulti-axis work
• Manual machining, repair, fixture-building, or basic EDM experience

What Success Looks Like

Programs and runs difficult work independently, protects themachine and part, and consistently delivers conforming components.

• Full-time position based primarily on-site in Hauppauge, New York
• Typical company schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; specific hours depend on the role
