Job summary

Basaran Grinder Corporation in Hauppauge, NY seeks an entry-level CNC machinist to operate mills/lathes using established programs and setup instructions. You will learn setup, process control, and Basaran quality expectations while producing and inspecting parts safely.

Responsibilities include loading materials, verifying tooling and machine condition, measuring parts, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. On-site, full-time role with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand dimensions/tolerances.
• Experience with calipers, micrometers, indicators, or willingness to develop inspection skills.
• Safe and dependable machine-operation habits.
• Ability to follow setup sheets and ask for help before changing an unapproved process.
• Interest in developing into an independent CNC machinist.

Operates CNC mills or lathes using established programs,tooling, and setup instructions. This level is for a developing machinist whocan produce and inspect parts safely while learning setup, process control, andBasaran quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Load material and parts, call up approved programs, and run establishedjobs
• Check tools, coolant, workholding, offsets, and machine conditionbefore operation
• Measure parts at defined intervals and record inspection results
• Make approved wear-offset adjustments and identify abnormal tool wearor machine behavior
• Deburr, clean, protect, and identify finished parts
• Maintain a clean work area and follow machine, lifting, and lockoutsafety procedures

Required Qualifications

• Basic ability to read mechanical drawings and understand dimensions andtolerances
• Experience with calipers, micrometers, indicators, or willingness todevelop inspection skills
• Safe and dependable machine-operation habits
• Ability to follow setup sheets and ask for help before changing anunapproved process
• Interest in developing into an independent CNC machinist

Preferred Experience

• Technical-school, machine-shop, CNC-operator, or manufacturingexperience
• Exposure to FANUC controls, mills, lathes, or Mastercam
• Experience with low-volume precision parts rather than repetitiveproduction only

Runs proven work safely, maintains part quality, detectsproblems early, and builds dependable inspection and setup skills.

• Full-time position based primarily on-site in Hauppauge, New York
• Typical company schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; specific hours depend on the role
