Job summary

TECOMET is seeking a CNC Machinist I in Florida to operate CNC machines, maintain quality and safety standards, and keep accurate records. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, OOQ quality, and 5S housekeeping while meeting productivity goals and following GMP/GDP procedures.

Preferred candidates will have a GED or high school diploma and experience in a production environment, with an associate degree or Machinist apprenticeship as a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a production environment.
• Associate degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.
• GCSE/NVQ Math and English desirable (UK only).

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Change dull tooling or make minor offsets and adjustments for tooling wear.
• Ensure product quality by following OOQ standards and inspecting reports.
• Perform routine maintenance per daily machine checklist and PM schedule.
• Perform hand finishing.
• Follow GMP/GDP and complete routers/cards.
• Maintain safe working practices to minimize risks to self and colleagues.
• Meet productivity targets and suggest improvements.
• Record activities in the job tracking system.
• Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities.
• Escalate manufacturing issues to Team Leader or Supervisor.
• Maintain 5S/housekeeping in the work area.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
