Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking a CNC Machining Automation Engineer to join AMG's team, developing and deploying advanced machining processes, CNC postprocessors, and CAM automation to accelerate rocket manufacturing.
The role requires strong CNC programming, CAD/CAM/PLM proficiency, and software development skills (Python, TypeScript), with collaboration across engineers and machinists on multiple sites including Space Coast, WA, and Huntsville.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in a CNC machining manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success with CAM systems and CNC programming.
- Software development and/or CNC postprocessor/CAM software experience.
- Extensive experience with CNC controls (Sinumerik, Heidenhain, Fanuc, Okuma).
- Ability to write high‑level macros and G‑code for probing.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, customize, and support software for CNC programming and machining.
- Adopt tools including AI/ML and in‑process probing to increase efficiency.
- Develop CNC postprocessors and machine code simulation.
- Support CAD/CAM/PLM integrations and add‑ons.
- Identify and evaluate advanced manufacturing technologies, and drive automation.
