Job summary
Blue Origin seeks a CNC Machining and CAM Automation Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize automated CNC machining processes across manufacturing facilities. You will develop software for CNC programming, postprocessors, and CAM integrations while collaborating with machinists, engineers, and software teams to scale automation and improve safety, quality and efficiency.
The role emphasizes proficiency in Python and TypeScript, experience with CAD/CAM/PLM systems, and a track record in CNC
Qualifications
- Level II: 2+ years in CNC machining environment
- Level III: 5+ years in CNC machining environment
- Demonstrated success with CAM systems and CNC programming
- Experience with CNC controls (Sinumerik, Heidenhain, Fanuc, Okuma)
- Strong coding skills in Python and Typescript
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs
- U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support software solutions for CNC programming and machining
- Drive adoption of efficiency tools including AI/ML and in-process probing
- Develop CNC postprocessors and machine code simulation
- Integrate and customize CAD/CAM/PLM systems
- Identify and evaluate new manufacturing technologies
- Provide hands-on support to machinists and engineers
- Collaborate across teams to scale machining automation
- Support lifecycle of CNC machines with vendors and IT
