Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CNC Machining and CAM Automation Engineer for its Advanced Manufacturing Group on Space Coast, FL. You will develop and deploy advanced machining processes, custom software, CNC automation, and CAM automation to enable high-volume rocket production.

You will apply your CNC, CAD/CAM/PLM, and software development expertise to improve safety, quality, and efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams across facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a CNC machining environment with CAM systems.
• Experience writing CNC postprocessors and CAM software customization.
• Proficient in Python or Typescript.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams across locations.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, customize, and support software solutions to drive CNC programming and machining automation.
• Drive adoption of efficiency tools, including AI/ML, in-process probing, adaptive machining, and data management systems.
• Develop and deploy CNC postprocessors and machine code simulation.
• Develop/integrate CAD/CAM/PLM system add-ons and integrations.
• Independently identify and evaluate advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Collaborate with machinists, programmers, engineers to scale automation.
• Provide hands-on support to deploy new processes and technologies on the shop floor.
