Job summary

Blue Origin, based in the Space Coast and other locations, is seeking a CNC Machining and CAM Automation Engineer to join the Advanced Manufacturing Group. You will develop and deploy advanced machining processes, software, and automation to accelerate rocket hardware fabrication.

You will lead projects across CNC programming, CAM systems, and postprocessor development, collaborating with machinists, software engineers, and vendors to scale automation while upholding safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a CNC machining manufacturing environment.
• Proven success with CAM systems and CNC programming.
• Experience in software development and CNC postprocessor or CAM software.
• Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Sinumerik, Heidenhain, Fanuc, Okuma).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support software solutions to drive CNC automation.
• Drive adoption of efficiency tools, AI/ML, in-process probing, adaptive machining.
• Develop CNC postprocessors and machine code simulation.
• Support CAD/CAM/PLM integrations and customizations.
• Identify and evaluate advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Collaborate with machinists, programmers, engineers to scale automation.
• Provide hands-on support deploying new processes and technology.
