Job summary

Mass General Brigham Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital unit seeks a dedicated unit secretary to support the Nursing Director and the Patient Care Team. You will handle secretarial duties, answer phones, coordinate tests and appointments, and maintain medical records to ensure efficient unit operation.

You will assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and communications, promote CARE standards, and help manage supplies and workflow using Meditech and bed management systems.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.

Responsibilities

• Answer unit phones and take accurate messages, coordinating with the charge nurse.
• Schedule patient tests and appointments, file and label medical records, and track unit requests.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth patient flow and bed management.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold CARE standards, supporting a respectful patient and family experience.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members across departments to ensure efficient unit operations.
