Job summary

24 Hour Fitness is seeking an Operations Manager in San Diego to partner with the General Manager and oversee front-line operations, including the front desk, Kids' Club (where applicable), and retail. You will supervise Attendants and Sales & Service staff, manage schedules and wage-and-hour compliance, and drive member satisfaction across daily tasks.

You will also coach staff, handle training and certifications, and ensure timely payroll processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory or team lead experience in a fitness, hospitality, retail, or customer service environment.
• Experience building employee schedules and managing labor hours to a budget.
• Working knowledge of wage-and-hour practices, including meal and rest periods and timekeeping.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages relevant to the club's community).
• CPR/AED certification (including infant and child CPR) or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Leads front desk operations, including member check-in, guest registration, membership inquiries, account updates, and support for digital check-in and the mobile app.
• Resolves member concerns quickly and professionally, escalating to the General Manager when needed.
• Supports membership sales activity, including upgrades, add-ons, and Personal Training referrals as needed; role does not own club sales goals.
• Works front desk shifts as needed to support coverage and service standards.
• Drives club performance in retail, and leads the team in action planning to improve results.
• Oversees Kids' Club operations and safety where applicable.
• Manages payroll, timecard accuracy, meal/rest breaks, and wage-and-hour compliance.
• Ensures cleanliness and safety standards across the club.
