Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to lead assigned departments with a focus on operational excellence and team development. The role includes duties as Manager on Duty, ensuring policy adherence, delivering GOLD standards, and building strong customer experiences.

The AMIT will develop into one of three paths—Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience—while training on safety, certificates, and leadership. A competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification; forklift experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members; oversee staffing decisions.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling to align with budgets and trends.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management with accurate reporting.
• Champion customer experience standards: GAA, GOLD, LAST service metrics.
• Maintain equipment, safety, and compliance across departments.
