Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to lead assigned departments with focus on business acumen, accountability, and talent development. The role includes auditing, onboarding, training, and ensuring food safety standards while acting as Manager on Duty when needed.

The position requires ServSafe certification and may require yearly forklift certification; Florida requires a qualifier certification for propane oversight.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations manager.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Must be able to lead and motivate a large team.
• Knowledge of store operations, membership, front-line, and omni procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide Strategic Department Leadership across assigned departments.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management.
• Champion Member Experience standards (GAA/GOLD/LAST).
• Operate safely and maintain club standards.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
