Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer for the Observability Platform to design, scale, and operate core telemetry services across multiple clouds. You will lead OpenTelemetry adoption, build high-throughput data pipelines, and mentor engineers while collaborating with SRE and platform teams.

The role requires 7+ years in software engineering, 5+ years with observability, and strong experience in Go, Python, and Java.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years building production backend services in Go and/or Java.
• 5+ years implementing and operating OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core observability platform services using Go, Python, Java (Spring Boot).
• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of OpenTelemetry and related tooling.
• Architect and scale high-throughput telemetry pipelines (logs, metrics, traces).
• Develop self-service observability features for onboarding and troubleshooting.
• Automate operational workflows and platform improvements.
